Finally, things are looking up for Calgary homeowners. After weathering low oil and resource prices, the province has started to come out of the economic slump of the past few years and people are getting back to work. This is good news not only for homeowners, but also for those seeking to buy or sell a property.
Buyers are looking for a home and community to settle in, and this is good news if you are thinking of selling your home.
Calgary housing market forecast brightens modestly over next two years
An expected increase in interprovincial migration into Calgary will provide a new boost in housing market demand over the next two years, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp’s, (CMHC) newly released housing outlook. Employment and population growth will add to an uptick in new home starts and sales going forward.
This will also fuel an increase in housing starts in 2020 and 2021, after a decline in new construction in 2019, said CMHC.
